  • play_arrowWhat’s the difference between free & unlimited WiFi?

    The only difference is that free WiFi is limited to 5Gb while unlimited WiFi is as the word describes, unlimited. The connection speed is the same for both.

  • play_arrowAre there any animals that pose a danger on the roads?

    Yes. During summer you will encounter sheep everywhere and they are very unpredictable so pass them with caution. On the east side there are reindeer.

  • play_arrowWhere is the rental car desk at the airport?

    We do not have a desk inside the airport. Our Keflavik office is a few minute ride from the airport. When you arrive at the airport, there will be a representative with a sign with the logo. He will take you to the rental office, free of charge, in a small bus that leaves every ten minute. The address is Flugvellir 6 and is on the way when you leave the airport to go to Reykjavik.

  • play_arrowWhat type of insurance is included in the rental price?

    Third party coverage and personal accident insurance is included in your rental CDW.

    The lessee is fully responsible for any and all damage to the car with the self-risk 350.000 ISK.

    Following damages are not covered by CDW insurance: e.g. negligence, driving while intoxicated, damage to tires, headlights, wind-screen and the underside of the car, damage caused by loose rocks which get thrown at the car on gravel roads, damages to the engine of the car caused by water while for example trying to ford a river.

  • play_arrowIs the vehicle fully tanked when we pick it up?

    The vehicle is delivered with a full tank and the vehicle should be returned with a full tank.

    If the fuel tank is less than full we will fill it up and charge for the extra fuel in addition to a small refill fee.

  • play_arrowWhat to do in case of accident or any problem with the vehicle?

    In case of accident or any issues with the vehicle you always have to notify us by phone or email go@goiceland.com.

  • play_arrowWho is authorized to drive the vehicle?

    The only people authorized to drive the vehicle are those who are named on the contract as the main driver or additional driver.

  • play_arrowWhere do I return my vehicle?

    Keflavik International Airport: You return your vehicle at our office just outside Keflavik Airport.

  • play_arrowHow and where do I pick up my vehicle?

    Keflavik International Airport:

    We have a minibus taking you from the airport to the rental office which is only a couple minutes away. The bus leaves every ten minute and is free of charge. Before you depart the airport, you will see a representative with a sign with the logo.

  • play_arrowWhat do I need to bring when I rent a vehicle at Go Iceland Car Rental?

    The registered driver must be at least 18 years of age and have held a full driver’s license for at least 12 months. You need a valid driver’s license in English, passport and a credit card to rent a vehicle at Go Iceland car rental.

  • play_arrowWhat additional insurance can I choose?

    You can add Super Collision Damage Waiver, Gravel Protection, Theft Protection, Sand & ash Protection and Premium Insurance Package.

    Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) will lower the self-risk in case of accident.

    Gravel Protection (GP) will protect damage to windscreen, headlights, paintwork and other parts of the car.

    Theft Protection (TP) will lower the self-risk in case of theft.

  • play_arrowHow do I get to the Reykjavik office?

    We do not have a Reykjavik office anymore. Our car rental office you will find at Flugvellir 6 which is just minutes away from the airport.

  • play_arrowWhat is my self-risk when I’m renting a car with you and what would it be if I will take extra insurance?

    The basic self-risk is 350.000ISK. If you choose PIP or SCDW insurance package, the self-risk drops down to 50.000ISK.

    Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) will lower the self-risk in case of accident.

    Gravel Protection (GP) will protect damage to windscreen, headlights, paintwork and other parts of the car.

    Theft Protection (TP) will lower the self-risk in case of theft.

  • play_arrowIs it possible to rent a WiFi router from you?

    Yes you can but it’s included with all camper vans.

  • play_arrowDo you have GPS units for rent?

    Yes we do. Just add it in “Extras” when you order your car/Camper.

  • play_arrowDo I have to have international driving license?

    If we can read the characters on the driver’s licence, you will not need an international driver’s licence but you need to be 18 years old and held a driver’s licence for a year.

  • play_arrowDo you take any authorization on my credit card?

    If you haven’t chosen the premium insurance package or SCDW (Super collision damage waiver), we will block a deposit for 350.000 ISK which will be released when the car has been returned.

  • play_arrowWhat kind of car do I need to drive on F-roads?

    You need to rent a 4×4 to drive on F-roads. Other vehicles are forbidden to drive on them.

  • play_arrowIs a credit card needed to hold my reservation?

    Yes, you need a credit card and you need one while booking the car too.

  • play_arrowWhat are the minimum age requirements for renting?

    You need to be 18 years old and have had a valid driver’s licence for a year.
