Iceland's 2026 Road Tax Explained
Iceland introduced a per-kilometre distance tax of 6.95 ISK/km on 1 January 2026. Most rental companies charge a flat 1,400 ISK/day. The full Ring Road (1,332km) costs around 9,257 ISK in road tax.
